The building which now hosts the tiger cub restaurant, was built towards the end of the reign of Queen Victoria, and about the time of the arrival of the “Marlow Donkey” (the steam train which first ran on the new railway between Marlow & Maidenhead).

In the early 60’s Mr David Brooks bought the building and changed the use to “fish & chip shop”. At that time there was a great hew and cry about the smell of the fish. So strong was the feeling that the national press reported the incident, which resulted in great publicity for the new venture. Technology has now advanced and the tiger cub has exploited this technology to enable the Indian food to be cooked without any effect on the local environment.

The inside of this restaurant has been fitted out to the highest standards, both in the kitchen (which is open plan to allow the customers to see the food preparation) and the dining area. The dining area has the very best cutlery; crockery, and soft furnishings to make a trip to the “cub” a trip to remember.
